Although you say that "transcending law is not the goal", you in effect create your own law by abandoning the commonly accepted rules of discourse. The enigma has always been deliberately obscure and thorny, to the point of unintelligibility. I would argue that this is a "law".
However, I agree with you that the reason Obama got elected is that people are willing to listen to what others say instead of doing the research for themselves. But I don't know if I would call that a "displacement". It's more of an "irresponsibility".
